This announcement explains what is changing in thesheet: Solo stays free, Studio adds fewer limits and more control, Agency supports bigger teams, and new sharing, branding and collaboration tools give studios more room to grow.

thesheet has always been built around a fairly simple idea: make it easier to pull a project together, keep the information tidy and share it with the people who need to see it.

That is still the point.

You can create a project and organise work with Spaces. You can add products manually, reuse them from your Product Library or bring them in from supplier websites with Donut and the Product Clipper. You can switch between list and card views, track products through statuses like Draft, Proposed, Approved and Rejected, export spec sheets to PDF and keep a quick eye on the shape of a project from the overview.

And when it is time to share, your clients can open a project without needing a login. They can review specs, approve or reject products, leave comments and move between list and card layouts.

That core workflow is not changing, however we are giving it more room to grow with new accounts.

Studio gives you more room

Studio is for designers and studios who need fewer limits and more control.

Studio gives you unlimited active projects and unlimited archived projects, so you can keep past work close without cluttering up what you are doing now. The dashboard makes it easier to find, open, archive, restore and delete projects when you need to.

It also removes the daily limit on Donut and Product Clipper fetches, so you can add products from supplier links as often as your projects require.

Studio also unlocks more control over your team. Leads can access all projects and company settings, while Members can be limited to selected projects. That means you can bring someone into the right work without giving them access to everything. We're also introducing functionality which allows you to add Collaborators to your projects: a single project or multiple, but never access to the entire account.

Solo stays free

Solo is still free and is designed for people running a small number of active projects.

With Solo you can have up to 3 active projects. You can still create and manage projects, use your Product Library, share with clients, export PDFs and view project finances.

You also get 5 Donut or Product Clipper fetches per day, so you can paste a product URL into Sheet view and let Donut pull the product information in for you. The Chrome Product Clipper works in the same daily allowance.

If your account already has more than 3 active projects, nothing will be removed. Your existing projects are safe. You just will not be able to add new projects until you are back within the Solo limit or move to a paid plan.

Better sharing, branding and collaboration

A big part of this release is about how your work leaves thesheet.

Studio and Agency can now control what clients see when you share a project link outside your workspace. You can choose whether brand, supplier, price and technical details are visible, preview the shared view, copy the link and generate a new link when needed.

Solo users can still preview and copy a project link, but the visibility settings and link regeneration are part of the paid plans.

Studio branding is also now available for shared pages, PDFs and link previews. You can add your logo, colours, font style and social share image so the things you share feel more like your studio. Solo users can set up and test branding, while Studio and Agency can apply it to the live shared experience.

We have also added collaboration for paid accounts. You can invite collaborators into selected projects without adding them as full team members. They can even be on a free account and they do not count as a paid seat for the account they are added to.

Agency is for bigger teams

Agency includes everything in Studio, with unlimited users.

It is there for teams that need the full set of project, sharing, branding and collaboration features without worrying about the size of the team.

More to come

We will keep improving thesheet over the year, especially around the parts of the workflow that make design projects easier to manage: adding products, organising decisions, sharing clearly and keeping clients in the loop.

The goal is still the same: a calm, practical place to shape a project.

Have a look at the new features, try everything out and see what fits your workflow. If the extra project space, unlimited product fetching, team access, branding, sharing controls or collaboration tools are useful for the way you work, you can upgrade when you are ready.
