External collaborators

Invite outside help into the right project

Bring freelancers, consultants or project partners into thesheet without opening up your whole studio workspace.

Choose the projects they can access, send the invite and keep everything else, including your full team workspace and Product Library, neatly out of the way.

Project access, not studio access

Collaborators can work inside the projects you choose. They do not become full team members, so the rest of your workspace stays private.

Choose projects with checkboxes

Select exactly which projects a collaborator can join. It is a simple setup for the very normal reality of outside help.

A locked collaborator role

The collaborator role is locked by default, so external partners start with the right level of access for project work.

When you're juggling several projects, you need structure, you need a system, and you need to save time. You also need tools that look professional and are clear for both you and your clients.

Real life use

Workflow example

They can help where they are needed, while your other projects, team workspace and Product Library stay separate.

Can external collaborators see my whole workspace?

No. External collaborators are for selected project access, not full team access. You choose which projects they can work on.

How do I choose which projects a collaborator can access?

You select the projects with project checkboxes when setting up their access. Only the selected projects are shared with that collaborator.

Do collaborators get access to the Product Library?

No. Collaborators are useful when someone needs access to a specific project without giving them access to the full workspace or Product Library.

Does it cost extra to invite an external collaborator?

No. External collaborators can accept the invite and work on the selected project for free. They do not count as paid team seats.

How does a collaborator start working on a project?

They accept the invite, then they can start working on the selected project. You do not need to add them as a full team member.
